I had read review saying there was a lot of turbulence in this lock - we had no issues at all. Lockmaster was professional, easy to communicate with and we had a smooth ride up. Beautiful area above.

Great stop! Very nice, new docks no power or water - bathrooms at nearby restaurants were good. We stayed on a T-head near Levi's and had a great night. Mexican restaurant was very good and the live music at Levi's was phenomenal! Would definitely stop here again. There is a nice path along the lake that goes under the road. Beautiful sunset.

Lovesick and Buckhorn lock walls were all full and a storm was coming later - we tucked into this lovely little marina. Owners and other boaters were very friendly and helpful. Have electric and bathrooms (no showers) sell gas no diesel, pumpouts available. Not near town so no shopping or restaurants. If they have a space, I recommend! Very reasonable price.

The park is nice...and the walkway across the canal is beautiful!! Don't miss it!!
We were there on Monday also...waterski group practices from 4-8 but they are very nice and entertaining! The leader came over and asked us to put out extra fenders to protect the boat. Was fun watching them get ready for their first ski show of the year that was scheduled later in the week. Lots of trains going by but hardly noticed after awhile. Bathrooms were clean and good. Paybox for the stay is inside by bathrooms. I would stay again if coming thru the area.

Rondout is nice marina and good stop. Beautiful creek to dinghy up to explore. Staff is great - friendly, very helpful and knowledgeable. Neal even fixed a leak in our fresh water plumbing. There isn't a lot to do on this side of the creek but the restaurant right on the dock is fabulous - we ate there all 3 nights. Cash or Venmo only but really yummy food with reasonable prices. The sourdough bread is quite tasty! BYOB. We scootered the mile plus to Kingston a few times - you have to go up a big hill to get to the bridge. Could also dinghy over. Very cute town - touristy over the 4th of July. Great fireworks went off near the bridge and we watched from the boat at the dock. The pool was great during the heat wave. Internet was a bit sketchy while we were there.

Great place to stop. Rotary hosts are friendly, welcoming and helpful. Facility is nice and well maintained. We stayed on floating dock with electric and water. Restrooms were clean, laundry was good.. one washer and dryer - work really well.
Town is very cute...nice waterfront. Bit of a walk to town across the bridge - scooters were a big help. Mexican food truck across the street and wood fire pizza place in town were excellent!!
Trail that goes back to Lock 17 is beautiful - plus you can walk up on top of the lock to see how it operates. Talk to the lock master...its amazing to see from the water and then from the lock itself.

Staff is great - helpful and friendly. Stay close to wall on approach to entry - shallow to port!! Bathroom key is a little strange...giant piece of painted wood - should be updated, wanted to use bathroom after walk to town and had to go all the way back to boat to get the key, just an inconvenience. Bathrooms were clean - docks had small posts to tie up to rather than cleats. Bow in only on floating docks.

Family owned marina and shop. We didn't have any work done but Beau was great and helpful. We've heard they do good honest work from a local. Diesel price was low so we filled up and then stayed on the end of the fuel dock. Very quiet area - Bathrooms large and clean. Didn't use but they have 1 washer and dryer available. Walking to restaurant nearby and scootered to West Marine. Depth was 6 plus feet...would stay here again.

Beautiful pet friendly anchorage. We had a lot of wind and current (fighting each other) while we were here but had great holding. Trails thru the island to the beach were wet but worth it! We had the ocean beach to ourselves.

Positives Had a gusty landing - staff was great and very helpful getting our stern in against the wind. Location is short walk (10-15 min) to waterfront park, grocery store and many restaurants - unfortunately right now there is a lot of construction in the area so not a great walk to get there but it is very possible.
Dogs are not allowed on the fields in middle but there is a nice park to walk around about a block away. Bathrooms were clean - we didn't use showers so not sure about them.
Negatives - we were on the facedock (open to the main channel) and got rocked pretty bad about 10 pm from a freighter going by. Dishes flew off counters etc. Fairly rough spot all night actually. We noticed other boats that were protected by outer docks not moving quite as much.
Laundry is not available right now due to construction - not sure when it will be complete.
Our electric pedestal wasn't working quite right...only one 30amp worked.
This was our second 1 night stay here.

Friendly and helpful on the docks, bathrooms were clean and great covered deck areas near the water. We used the courtesy car on our first visit - there is usually a waiting list and it is only available until 5 - but really nice to have the option for supplies!

Beautiful anchorage. We were there with a buddy boat but no one else. Easy access to the dinghy dock...need National Park pass as it is a paid area. Saw horses on our arrival and on the grounds - also saw armadillos and alligators!! Large one swimming in water near the dock in the am! Grounds are beautiful and walking thru the huge oak trees draped with Spanish moss is not to be missed.
Approach was good - a little shallower at the mouth but not below 10 that we saw.
Would definitely stay again...hopefully for a few more days so we could walk to beach.

Beautiful anchorage with amazing sunsets! Good shore access in marina channel - don't use docks on ICW. Winds were from SE and E - good protection. Some wakes during the day but calm at night. Holding was mud, cleaned up easily. Fun watching the pelicans fish in the morning. Dog walking was not great due to the number of cars and lack of grassy areas. We walked on the road under the bridge - watching for cars the whole time. Small dogs do fine with the area.

    Would stay again.

Nice anchorage, slight south wind while we were here but no bugs. We had no issues with wakes. Plenty of room for many boats - there was only one other when we were here. Got out at the old boat ramp (look for gate) Busy and nice walking path for dogs going either way - View from the bridge was incredible at sunrise! Store with deli food, great meat market and wine a few block walk inland on East side. Dogs not allowed on beach. Watched SpaceX launch from the boat - Amazing! Beautiful spot! Very quiet with 4 other boats anchored. We stayed closer to the beginning of creek due to large school group camping at the far end. Walking dogs was tough due to the group campsite - they had about 30 canoes parked at the kayak landing so accessing the trails nearby was near impossible. We took dogs to small beach closer to the entrance of creek area to do their business.

Great free dock! So friendly and came out to help us dock. Short walk to very cute town. Fun restaurants and breweries - most seemed pet friendly. We were able to walk a short distance north from the dock and let our dog run and stretch a bit.
