Heavy machinery making screeching noises, back up beeping and diesel engine noise. The main beach was definitely off limits. While the holding and protection were good, we decided to move to a mooring ball further south.

Terrible reservation process. I requested a reservation to ride out a storm several days ago. The staff kept delaying answers and asking me to call while I was offshore. I kept responding I can't call as no coverage offshore. They kept stringing me along saying they were working on my reservation. In the end, they said they couldn't accommodate me. If I had known this in the beginning, I could've gone elsewhere. Now I am scrambling to find a safe anchorage. This is soooo not cool. Also, their online reservation form does not work properly! Don't go there.

Marina Review for Spanish Wells Yacht Haven

We loved the marina, staff and onsite restaurant. Everything was well kept and convenient. That part was 5 stars. But, be sure you check the water if you have a water tester BEFORE you fill up your tanks. We filled 2 empty tanks and then tested the water. It was over 1200 ppm. "Unacceptable" by world health standards. It did not taste salty, so it's undetectable without a tester. Marina said they forgot to switch from city water to R/O. I hope that's not the case for the residents who live in Spanish Wells. Regardless, this should never happen! Cost us renting a golf cart to buy gallons of drinking water since our tanks were full of unsuitable water.

Beautiful beach with shade trees. There was even a food vendor set up there grilling for you. Very few people on the beach. Anchoring was easy in all sand. Good snorkeling on the south end near the small rock at the tip. Residents were very friendly. We tried to bike to the Atlantic, but the road was unpaved and a bit too rough. We could have stayed for a few more days, but weather from the south, made the anchorage bouncy. Only other issue, was lots of flies and mosquitoes arrived around 6:00 pm.

The beach was fine, but the restaurants along the shore were basically shacks. The "popular" one we went to had broken and ragged seating. Aside from the Hermitage, this anchorage was disappointing.

Nice marina with easy in and out slips. Laundry onsite, showers, pool and private beach with thatched roof sunshades. Restaurant and bar onsite although bar was never open. Drinks pricey. We had trouble with power going off and on on the first day multiple times. Second day was ok. Internet was not good and often would not connect. lots of flies in the marina due to frequent fish cleaning in slips. Boat next to us drew multiple shark frenzy due to cleaning fish. Marina should not allow it except at marina fish cleaning station. Could potentially be 5 star, except for the issues.

The resort beach is beautiful and you can beach your dinghy right there. The resort is small, so we rarely saw more than a couple people. We enjoyed the beach, swimming and dining. We had dinner at the resort one night. Other cruisers came from New Bight for dinner as well as a couple staying there. Other than the resort, there's not much nearby. Convenience store is quite a trek by foot. If you want beautiful scenery and enjoy peace and quiet, this is a great choice.

While holding was good, off and on throughout the night, we would get swells on the beam. It was very uncomfortable. Winds from south, clocking west were sheltered as we tucked behind the rock leading into the Harbour. No supplies near the anchorage. People from Pete's were very helpful and went out of their way to help us with a ride to Cherokee to a small grocery store. They charged $10/ bag to dispose of trash. Enjoyed the atmosphere of the Harbour and restaurant. Very laid back and friendly.

Beautiful water colors, gorgeous little beach and a decorated pavilion. Behind pavilion is the Atlantic side, right there with amazing views. Narrow, winding road featured charming houses with creative back gates. Every house was immaculate. Can't wait to see what town has to offer.

Just passed through. North span still has tarps and cages across the entire span. (Not just half). We passed at 64' on the board and cleared fine. With antenna, we are 61'5". Good idea to have someone at bow with binoculars because there were places where wire cage was hanging down. Would've been a problem for us.

Waters are so clear. We anchored on several trips and stayed for more than a month each time. The little island Is perfect for dogs /kids to run around or just a spot to relax. Across the channel is a beach. Lots of places to kayak. Nearby small grocery store. Dinghy ride to downtown docks.

This is a great location. Very scenic. Walk across street to downtown St Augustine shops and restaurants. Free dinghy dock for mooring field. Staff is friendly and attentive. Floating docks are in great shape. Only one drawback is there is no marina parking. We did find free street parking about 3/4 mi away on Charlotte St. I would highly recommend.

This is a very accessible mooring field especially with our quick stop on our way up the intracoastal. Mike, the dock master was very friendly and helpful. Although we did not use the amenities, they do have some. Apparently, insurance requirements have changed and they are back in the "normal" range.
