Plymouth, known as “America’s Hometown,” was the site of the first enduring colony in New England, founded in 1620 by the passengers of the Mayflower, establishing New England.

In the Plymouth Village Historic District you will find many restored 18th-century houses including half a dozen you may visit. The Pilgrim Hall Museum (508-746-1620) is one of the very oldest in the country and contains an impressive collection of Pilgrim lore and possessions including Miles Standish’s swords.
