Marion, MA
Tradition has it that as many as 87 ship captains lived in Marion in the mid-1800s. Of the beautiful captain’s homes, many were bought by “summer people” once tourism brought visitors in the last 1800s and some of those historic homes remain today.
The town has ancient trees shading narrow, cottage-lined streets and the harbor offers protected moorings, marinas and shops that offer all you are likely to need, making this a favorite layover port for cruising boats.
